UK’s Arkwright is behind the 7th release on Cue Line Records, ‘Settle EP’. This EP is all about organic sounds, dirty saturation, and layered soundscapes. ‘Kwata’ opens the release setting the perfect mood with its deep layers of flowing chords and reverbed percussion. An ultra deep sub bass and a carefully placed drum rhythm hold the track together very well. ‘Settle’ follows up with hard energy from the pumping kicks and basslines that join together in a 4x4-alike pattern. The deep synth compositions are almost hypnotic. A catchy touch through harmonies and sampled vocals is the essence of ‘Living’. Beautiful, uplifting, and airy with just the right amount of dirty drive. ‘Nosalis’ draws upon the roots of dubstep in an all out 4x4 kick vs halfstep synthesis. As the track progresses an amazingly funky melody takes over the track with jazzy-warm vibes. ‘Level Head’ follows perfectly with an early vibe to it that takes you back to the early stage of the dubstep scene. Original sound from Arkwright all the way.
