Sound The Horns EP by Ziplokk is a journey through dub-inspired music. The title track is a melodic symphony of dubbed-out spring reverb - a catchy hook on the horns accompanied by off beat teasing rim shots and a solid low-end pattern of triplets. ‘Fire’ carries forward the dub wise sound yet taking a deeper path - all ears on the warm modulating sub bass. ‘Explosive Device’ gives the EP a diversified touch from being less dub inspired and more on the beastie bass-line work and filled with energy - this is the dance floor smasher! ‘Burst Mode’ takes on the dub again yet following the path of ‘Explosive Device’ with 16th notes all over the rhythms. The sound is set to Burst! Closing the EP is Audhentik’s remix of the title track ‘Sound The Horns’. An intelligent flip that’s aiming for a deeper direction. Audhentik brings on edge. There’s no doubt, the Germans know what they’re doing - music straight out of Berlin.
